In my personal work, I've always tried more to express an emotion relating to a given topic, to simply document it. I used first gum bichromate then digital development and informatic technology which has allowed me to make my "pixoplasty" tools.
The original photographic image serves as a matrix for a study of its evocations. The scanned image is unstructured : its original constituents, pixels, provide me a material as malleable as clay.
Each image is a derived expression of his subject and the pixels that compose it, arranged otherwise.
My purpose is not to distort an image or to make effects, my desire is to use the elements that compose it to discover another universe.
